About Me.

Hi! My name is Holly Markert. You could say I was born into the beauty industry. My passion for big hair and smokey eyes was cultivated in the era of excess, the good old 1980s. It was at the salon my Father worked at as a hairstylist that my lifelong apprenticeship as a student of hair and makeup began. I remember back to five years old, sweeping up hair in the salon for all the glamorous stylists, studying them. I was in awe of how they worked the blowdryer and brush. I spent the next several years perfecting my own styling techniques, and recreating the styles I saw in the salon.  Fast forward two decades and I am an accomplished freelance hair and makeup artist and men’s groomer.

I specialize in creating clean, natural looks for video, print, weddings and special events.

I am the proud owner of two private salons in Southern California. I work nationally as an educator for the one and only Brazilian Blowout and B3 Brazilian Bond Builder.

I have had the great pleasure of creating looks for many projects with production companies including FitLife Productions, Lionsgate BeFit, and Herbalife, as well as American Fitness Magazine. I have styled hair for numerous awards shows including the Academy Awards, the Grammys, the American Music Awards, the Emmys, and the Espy Awards. 

All these accomplishments set aside, my biggest passion is collaborating with my clients in the salon. Whether it is a beautiful haircut and color, or a hair and makeup creation for a special event, hair and makeup is my life.

I am blessed to do what I love every day. My appreciation for my clients that make living my dream possible, both behind the chair and on set, is immeasurable. I enjoy the journey each and every day.
